Red Lanterns #36

Well...that was interesting!  I do have to say, that as much as I love this book, I really hate that cover.  It looks like a hatless Yosemite Sam...not Guy Gardner.  Fortunately, the interior is a vast improvement.

The New Gods have swooped onto Earth, and done their usual nefarious deeds, with little or no resistance from the Lanterns, or indeed anyone.  You would have thought the Justice League would have been all over that.  Heck, Batman and various Robins are all currently on Apokilips beating the crap out of Darkseid's minions!  Batman!  Darkseid!  But all of the various Lantern Corps can't handle the New Gods?

I smell a rat.

But anyway...Guy is pissed.  Even more pissed than usual, and that is saying something.  Simon Baz isn't particularly happy either, but he's trying to be the voice of reason.  He can't quite understand why Guy is so angry, till Guy breaks it down for him, that he's the one who seems to always survive, when his friends and the people that he inspires seem to be the ones who always pay the ultimate price.  I never thought about it like that before, but I guess I can see why poor Guy is starting to feel just a tad overwhelmed.  Plus he's got Survivor's Guilt out the ying-yang.

Back on New Genesis, High Father has the power that he tricked out of Kyle...and is simply champing at the bit to go and use it.  Even some of his loyal followers are beginning to question the wisdom of what he is doing, but drunk with power and White Lantern juice, he isn't listening.  There doesn't appear to be a whole lot of difference between High Father and Darkseid at this point.  At any point.

On Earth, the done thing when you want to take a Boom Tube Ride, is to go and visit Cyborg apparently.  I thought he was with Batman?   But he's there, and reluctant to send Guy and Simon on their presumably doomed quest.  Guy does agree that someone has to stay behind and protect the earth, but Simon feels he has to go to protect Guy from himself.  B'dg agrees to stay and help out the Justice League, but he's a bit wary of Guy, which rather surprises me.  Up until fairly recently, Guy WAS the top Honor Guard of the Green Lantern Corp...you would think that would count for something!

Of course Guy does get in a few digs about Chipmunks and nuts and...well, you know.  Damn, I like B'dg a whole lot but I still miss Ch'p.  So they rely on Cyborg to send them someplace nice and quiet and inconspicuous.

On New Genesis, Malhedron, the guy who had previously beaten them up is shacked up with Dia, his apparent main squeeze, and they are talking about how High Father is drunk with power.  Cyborg's inconspicuous landing, has Guy and Simon falling right on top of these two...in bed no less.

Not exactly inconspicuous, but typical of the Guy Gardner form of luck. Naturally, things don't go particularly well for our two Lanterns, and Malhedron is about to chop their little heads off, when High Father shows up and puts them in a Miracle Cell.

Hah!

Does this mean that Scott Free is lurking in the shadows?  I would go insane of Scott showed up. Or Barda.

Reviews!

I'm still stuffed from Thanksgiving dinner, but thought that I would give my reviews a try anyway.  God, I do love Thanksgiving.

Aquaman #36

Well, things do seem to be coming together in an interesting fashion.  Atlantis keeps having seaquakes whenever Arthur shows up, which has to be disconcerting.  He has recently discovered that his mother's tomb is empty, which also has to be disconcerting.  Arthur is probably wishing he could just go hang out in his nice little lighthouse with Salty the Sea Dog,and give up this whole "King" business.

So they haul poor old Vulko out, and find out that Atlanna had been bundled off in a marriage of convenience to an unbalanced military leader, and he went fairly bonkers towards the end, so she decided to stage a coup d'etat, and fake her own death.  Vulko thought that it was real, so he's a bit devastated, and now Arthur feels he has to figure out what actually happened to her.

The art is pretty, and the story is becoming more and more interesting, so I like this pretty well.

Batgirl #36

I finally got this, after my store ran out and had to reorder, and it's just as much fun as the first one.  The art is a hoot, and seems to really go with the more relaxed and fun story-telling.  This is a good move on DC's part, trying to get in on the Marvel Bandwagon of quirky books.  I like quirky books!

Lots and lots of fun.  Which is something that Batgirl really desperately needed to be.

Batman '66 #17

And speaking of  fun!  I do love this book so much.  And with this issue, we have none other than King Tut.  Victor Buono was one of my favorites on the old television show, and they do a pretty good job of portraying him here.  He's come up with something called the "Osiris Virus", which turns people into Zombies.  So, naturally, he uses it.  That's what Villains do!

And it works! Except it only works at night, and by daylight, they all have lost their zombie powers.  Curses!   Tut had had his zombie army bury Batman and Robin, and naturally, since they were wearing their Bat-Oxygen Masks, they had twenty minutes and a bunch of batarangs handy, so they could dig their way out.  King Tut even waves his arms and laments that he doesn't ever stay around to finish the job, which cracked me up to no end.

Delightful!

Man, Guy is really pissed.

Poor Guy.

A small week, but a good week.  More on Guy tomorrow.

Snow!

Well, our first big snowstorm of the season, here is lovely old New England.  It's wet and sloppy, and everyone has naturally forgotten how to drive over the summer, but that's par for the course.  I DID make it to the Comic Book Store on my way home from work however, and they were pathetically glad to see me, so I'm glad I made the effort.

And also because nothing will drag me out of my house on Black Friday.  Plus, Red Lanterns is out.

So, if you can safely go to your own Comic Book Stores, do so, and have a lovely read before Thanksgiving!

I'm Already Thankful

Gosh I do love Thanksgiving.  I am seriously considering Christmas to be the schoolyard bully of Holidays lately.  Needless to say...but I'll say it anyway, I will NOT be shopping on Black Friday nor on Thanksgiving or anytime that entire weekend.  Yeesh!

Our renovations continue to gallop along, which is a good thing.  The bathroom was completely gutted, and reframed, and now the plumbers and the electricians are working to put those sorts of things back into the room.  This is a very good thing.  We are using our motorhome to take showers, and it's getting old.  We did discover an entire high ceiling above the old one, and a built-in archway that led to a secret door that opened into my son's closet, which was pretty cool.

And I'm thankful that Red Lanterns is coming out this coming Wednesday.  And I'm really really thankful, that with the new way of shipping the books, we don't end up missing Wednesdays anymore!

Whoohoo!

Stuff That I Bought

Well, this wasn't a bad week at all!

Batman"66...The Lost Episode

This is a rewrite of the apparent lost episode originally penned by Harlan Ellison for the wonderful original television show that was so much a part of my misspent youth.  Len Wein does a bang up job of course, and the cover is simply amazing, as is the interior artwork.

Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face is doing his usual thing, which is running about committing crimes, although his are more of the artful robbery sort, and less of the poisoning of the city water supply kind.  Two-Face may be a crazed criminal, but he's not a jerk.  Then he does his coin flip, and depending upon how it lands, he either keeps the swag, or returns it.

He's managing to stay one step...or should I say TWO steps ahead of the Dynamic Duo, but eventually Batman does catch up with him, and is naturally taken captive.  Harvey does his coin flip...and it lands ON EDGE!  Naturally, he is a bit freaked out.  Batman escapes but so does Harvey.

When Batman inevitably catches up with him again...and is inevitably captured, Harvey swears that this time he's going to kill him and get him out of his hair once and for all.  Batman bargains that if the coin lands on edge, he'll give himself up.  Hah!  That could never happen twice in a row...but of course it does.  Poor Harvey is beside himself, but he does the honorable thing, and gives himself up.  It turns out that Batman switched his original coin with a loaded one that would only land on edge!  Batman cheated!

This was simply wonderful.

Batman '66 vs The Green Hornet #6

And so we come to the conclusion of this delightful little romp.  Our intrepid quartet has pursued the Joker and Gumm, only to have them escape after raining down Italian stamps upon them.  Also they have kidnapped Signore Bollo, and have him sitting on a bomb, but fortunately Batman and Green Hornet use the  leftover glue guns to defuse the bomb.

In gratitude, Signore Bollo, who is the art collector who had his collection stolen in the first place, decides NOT to sue the City of Gotham, but will instead settle for a mere six millon, and they all agree to it!  The twist of course, is that Gumm is in disguise as Bollo, and he and the Joker still get millions of dollars in addition to the collection!  This is actually...a pretty clever idea!  Too bad that it backfires, because Gumm doesn't know enough Italian to fool Batman and the Green Hornet, who naturally show up and apprehend the two villains.

It's fun, it's clever, and the art by Ty Templeton is a treat.

Lovely.

Batman & Robin #36

Well, Batman is in his super duper Batsuit, and tearing things up on Apokolips, looking for the body of Damian.  Batgirl, Red Robin, Red Hood and Cyborg have managed to follow him, and offer him their aid.  He's a bit cranky at first, but eventually managed to grunt out a thank you.  There is a lovely moment when Jason points out that he's been going all Red Lanterny on the hapless inhabitants of Apokolips that I found to be highly amusing.  Oh, and Titus is also along...that's one heck of a dog.

They have managed to beat up the extremely hungry inhabitants, defeat Glorious Godfrey and make a fool out of Kalibak, which to be frank, isn't all that hard.  It's been a lot of fun actually watching Bruce go so totall bonkers.

The art by Pat Gleason is...as usual...quite quite fabulous.  He and Tomasi always make one of my favorite combinations.  It's a great story, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat, and I can hardly wait to see what happens when Batman goes up against Darkseid.

Great!

Fables #146

Well, Bigby is running amok, since he's still been missing a tiny piece of himself, that same self piece of crystal that is being worn rather ostentatiously by Miss Duglas.  The Council doesn't know what to do, but feel that they have to do something.  Also, a certain Bluebird is on his way to some new realms, and turns out to be a troll.  I missed you Grimsby!

Duglas, who is been slowly turning into a version of the Dark Man, finally shows her true colors, and is extremely cruel to poor old King Cole.  Unfortunately for her, Rose Red is onto her tricks, and that's the end of Duglas.  Rose also puts on the ring, and FEELS the power of Bigby, so this could be a good thing or a very very bad thing.  Also, her beautiful golden armor turns crimson, and she gets a vision and a visit, which she finds very disconcerting.  And she finally gets to go home again and find out just what it is that makes her and Snow White so powerful.

Pretty good, although it has taken a very long time to reach this point.

Justice League #36

Well, Lex Luthor managed to have his Amazo virus be stolen, and it is killing people throughout the city and has even affected the Justice League although only Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are left.  Naturally.  So they are trying to find the original person infected, also known as Patient Zero.  This will probably cause a lot of problems.

It didn't take very long for Lex to screw up, did it?

The art is nice, and it is an interesting story, so I'm sticking with it.

Sensation Comics/Wonder Woman $4

Well we have the obligatory sexy cover, with Diana showing off her boobs AND butt in the same pose.  Seriously, have any of you ever tried that?  It hurts like crazy!  Fortunately the art inside is simply fabulous.

We begin with the second half of the story from the last issue with none other than the sublime Senor Hernandez.  It had Wonder Woman being hypnotized or whatever by Kanjar Ro, and now she's fighting Super Girl!  And then somehow Mary Marvel gets into the act as well!

It's magnificent and hilarious all at the same time, and I loved loved loved it.

Next we have Wonder Woman inflated to giant size, by the Atom, so that she can go up against Byth, that villain from Thanagar who takes out  Hawkman and Hawkwoman in a very amusing way.   She ends up wrapping him in the cables from the bridge, which magically turns into her lasso, and giving him what he wants, which is solitude and a place of his own.  So, she sets him down on one of the outlying islands of Themyscira, which should be interesting, since he is a shape-shifter, and they are all women.

Finally, we have Diana and Etta Candy fighting Ra's al Ghul, with Deadman showing up and inhabiting poor Etta.  Diana has a little bit of trouble figuring out what is going on at first, and accepting that Deadman is a ghost, since when people die in her culture, the stay in Hades.  Again, the art is a hoot and the story is a whole lot of fun.

This is a great take on Wonder Woman, and I am loving this book....So Much!

Wonder Woman  #36

And so...we begin the era of the Finches.  I bought this book because I wanted to give them a chance to wow me.

I...am not  wowed.

At all.

We begin with a bunch of narration boxes, babbling about how water is both beneficial and dangerous...basically just so that we can see Diana taking a shower.

Meanwhile on Themyscira, some of the Amazons aren't too happy about how Diana brought back the Amazon sons to live with them.  Dessa points out that these men are their own children, but Clyemne is awfully cranky about it.  Amazons are pretty cranky in general apparently.

But Diana is off with the Justice League, looking at a bunch of environmental disasters, and while the rest of the guys in the League are all standing around looking stalwart, she looks about...fourteen.   Yeesh.  A fourteen year old with big boobs and birthing hips, but still.  The environmental problems have brought none other than Swamp Thing to the area, who is checking out what could have possibly happened, when she shows up and immediately starts beating the crap out of him. Diana of all people!    Hell, Aquaman has to come and try and talk her down, and apologize to Swamp Thing.  Arthur can't understand why she's so angry, so she starts going off on him too.

Then she goes home and finds out that the statue of her mother, which they left standing outside has...melted or something, so once again Hippolyta is dead.

Yeesh.  Again?

God...this is terrible.

I just dropped this book.

Daredevil #10

Matt is still reeling from the terrible emotional whammy he received from Kilgrave's little band of offspring, and there is a brilliant explanation of Depression and its effects on a person.  And speaking of Kilgrave, he's back, although he's in pretty bad condition, and he's not happy with his adorable moppets.  And,he's trying to kill Daredevil who is too much of an existential funk to fight back.

He does get it together eventually however, and manages to escape, while trying to figure out where the kids would go.  Kirsten naturally has the right idea, they have taken over a fun Arcade!  And are having themselve a fine old time.  Too bad for them that dear old Dad shows up...and he's in a very very bad mood, and doing his best to kill his own children.  Fortunately Daredevil shows up, although he's having a terrible time of it as well.

The key apparently is keeping them apart from one another.  He's  able to save one of the kids and get him out of there, the cops show up and he is able to defeat Kilgrave.  They take the kids, who once they are separated revert to their normal skin hue, but is is sad that they will always have to live apart from.

So...Matt seems fine, and back to his old self, although Kirsten is still worried.  He goes home, and huddles on the bed, and it's a sad and rather spooky ending.

Chris Samnee's art as usual is spectacular.  Mark Waid's story is equally so.  I do adore this book.

Loki, Agent of Axis #8

I haven't really been reading Axis, but as far as I can tell, due to the machinations of the Red Skull, the heroes are now jerks, and the villains are now heroes.  Loki has teamed up with the Enchantress to go out and be fabulous, so they call Lorelei, Sigurd and Verity to Loki's apartment to tell them how very very heroic they all are now.  Lorelei isn't buying it, and Verity is pretty broken up when Loki tells her that now that he's so good, he doesn' t need her around anymore.

Yeesh!

But first Loki has gone to Las Vegas and ends up saving a casino from the assault of The Death Throws!  A more modern version of the classic Circus of Crime!  It's completely over the time, and very old school, and quite hilarious, as Loki mops the floor with these losers.  He's actually there to try and find Thor, and turns into a unicorn to gallop away and find him.

Thor is at a craps table, winning with every throw...even the bad ones.  Thor, has now of course, turned evil.

Loki is so smug as a hero.  Well, Loki is always a little smug, that's one of his charms, but this is just ridiculous. But the art is lovely, and the story is fun, and dammit, I'm enjoying the crap out of this book.

One helluva a week.  All good books, with the abysmal exception of Wonder Woman.  Which is a darned shame.

Oh Hal

Well, my one of my upstairs bathrooms is completely gutted.  On the other hand, we found a newspaper from 1958 in the wall, and some really really hideous wallpaper, not to mention another ceiling much higher than the current ceiling.  Which is no more.  Gosh, this is exciting.

It's Tuesday, cold and drear, and I thought this would cheer you all up.  It doesn't have Hal's behind, but it DOES show him getting hit in the head, which always cheers me up.

The Atom seems to be cheerful as well.

Green Lantern Corps #36

These are tough times for the various Corps throughout the Universe, with the New Gods making them all look like rank amateurs, and smashing through their ring powers with contemptuous ease.  Which makes me wonder a bit, if the rings are so paltry, then why is Highfather so intent on getting them?  Maybe he's just a jerk.

Now it is the turn of the Star Sapphires, and they are in a bit of a pickle.  Meanwhile, Sinestro has transported the remnants of the various other Corps to Qward, which I have to admit, is a pretty smart thing to do.  And we also get to see our old friend the Weaponer, who has been...busy.  Busy making Weapons!  And not just any weapons, but really really cool weapons...cuz that's what he does.

The new New Guardians also whine a lot.  They are turning out to be a lot like the old Guardians.  Also, Hal has snuck off to find Black Hand, which they told him NOT to do, but hey, that's Hal.  Sinestro of course was egging him on.  John, is a bit whiny too, so Sinestro has to keep telling him not to be such a baby.  John even snaps at Soranik, who is only trying to help, but he's enjoying wallowing in his own misery just a tad too much.

Anyhoo...the Star Sapphires are about to be wiped out, when John, the Weaponer and a host of other Lanterns show up in the nick of time, armed with their cool new weapons, and proceed to at least knock the New Gods on their heels.  This works for a little while, but the New Gods are fairly up on tactics, and unleash arrows, and the Lanterns all have to cower under an energy field.  Then the Sapphires start talking about the power of Love and all, and John gets all cranky, blaming them for what happened with Fatality.  Yet another Queen bites the dust, but she bequeaths her ring to...John.

Haw!

We finally have another male Star Sapphire!  All things considered, his costume is pretty tasteful, although I would certainly have preferred a lot more skin.  What's good for the goose is good for the gander, if you will.  But I'm not the audience that DC is aiming at, so I suppose that will never happen.

So John rescues his cadre, and the New Gods apparently just let them go, because they are all going "to be converts soon" or something.

Not a bad issue.  Things are certainly progressing, which is good.  Still not my favorite storyline, the New Gods are way too powerful, and the Rings are far too weak, and I really don't see the whole point of the whole exercise, but hey.  What I'd really like, is a moratorium on all the huge crossovers that never ever end, and a focus on just letting the writers and artists tell the stories for the individual books that they would like to tell. Have Hal go beat up Sonar or something.  But that's just me.

Slightly Delayed Reviews

Oops.  Some of my posting may be a tad on the sporadic side for the next few weeks.  Or, considering how these sorts of things go...maybe a lot of weeks.  We are in the beginning throes of a house remodel, with our main bathroom, and kitchen getting redone, plus a bunch of other stuff.  We just tore down the old sunroom, and screened porch off the back of our 1850 brick Victorian, and it is...amazing.  The sunlight is pouring in from the east and south, and we are in awe.  But we are already two weeks behind, so I am a tad cranky.

But comic books at least are always there for us.  They may be late sometimes too, which is annoying, but usually sooner or later they do arrive.  And they are a whole lot less expensive.

Batman #36

Well, the entire Justice League has been tainted by Joker Venom, and Batman certainly has his work cut out for him, trying to contain them, and stay alive. Fortunately for him, they are all attacking him one at a time or he'd really be up the creek!

Superman of course is the scariest, because he's lost whatever restraint he ever had, and is just out and out ruthless.  Good thing that Bruce is prepared.  And then he goes to Arkham, to look for clues.

Guess who shows up?

As usual, the art is just gorgeous, and although I'm suffering from a bit of Joker Fatigue, Snyder manages to make him a villainous and terrifying as usual.  In fact even more than usual.  Great stuff.

Green Lantern Corps #36

Well, I certainly didn't see THAT coming!

Justice League United #6

I have to say that I am enjoying this a lot more than the regular Justice League.  Animal Man, and Ollie, and Star Girl are all still working out the kinks, Kara is a bit pushy, but hey, that's just the way she is.  As usual, J'onn is the most lucid, although he is pretty much caught up in trying to shield young Ultra.

Incidentally, young Ultra is the kid that the Legion has travelled back through time to kill, because he gets turned into a monstrous...well...monster and wipes them out in the future.  And after a bit of a mutual tussel, they all unite to fight off another threat, while Kara and Ollie fight with  Byth and a reanimated but crazy Hawkman.  Although with Hawkman, it is a bit hard to tell, since he's usually always a bit out there.

Nice art, and nice mayhem, and heck..a good story.

Hawkeye vs. Deadpool #2

In the absence of the regualr Hawkeye book, I am enjoying the heck out of this odd pairup.  It really isn't versus so much as a pairing of oddballs.  Also Kate is in the mix, and SHIELD, and stuff. It's zany of course, but the art is so much fun, and the quips are fun, and oh heck...it's just fun.

Lots and lots of fun.

She-Hulk #10

And speaking of fun...!  It's Jennifer vs Matt Murdock in the battle of the Attorneys, for the reputation of old Captain America!  We get to hear his side of the story, and find out that there is a villain behind all of this...naturally.  And it is plausible, and fun, and it is simply a wonderful book.

Jen wins, and Cap is acquited.  The part where they figure out who is behind the accusations, and discuss why he went to the two of them in the first place is absolutely a hoot.

WHY are they ending this book?  It is odd and quirky and hilarious, and has interesting art, and a fabulous story and a great cast.  Obviously we can't have nice things.  Enjoy it while you can!

Thor #2

Well, the female Thor has shown up, and she is fighting the Frost Giants, and figures out how to fly and get off the moon, and all sorts of interesting things.  What is interesting is her inner voice, which seems quite normal for an average young woman, and what she actually says...which is in Asgardian Speak.  Certainly Roxxon and the Frost Giants seem a bit confused.

A bit of a cliffhanger, as she manages to lose the Hammer.

Oops.

Still don't know who she actually is, but this is a lot better than I had anticipated it being, so I'm hooked for now.

So, not a huge week, but a pretty decent week, all things considered.

Something of a Milestone

This is my 2000th post!  Woohoo!

And...as is usual for a Tuesday, I have absolutely nothing of import to say.  In fact, my mind is more than usually blank.  2000 is a lot of pressure!  It should be about something important!  Something mind-boggling!  Something...dare I say...epic.

So, in keeping with the slightly ridiculous premise of this blog, I give you...

Green Lantern #36

This was...an interesting issue.  It mostly consists of the various Corps licking their wounds, and trying to come up with some plans.  Also the new New Guardians show up and spill the beans about Kyle, while Hal and Sinestro really need to get a room.

I haven't enjoyed this book this much in months!

You see...unlike some comic book fans, it has never been about the huge battles for me.  I much prefer the characters, and their interactions with each other, and this had the latter in spades.

We begin with the Highfather calling Orion into his office for a spanking.  Metaphorically speaking anyway.  Turns out that Highfather thinks that the various Lanterns, insignificant insects that they are, might actually have some value, so he would appreciate it if his minions would stop slaughtering them.  Oh NOW he says that?  That would have been of a lot more use a little while earlier!  Orion of course is a shoot-first-ask-questions-later sort of fellow, so he's all pissy.

Meanwhile, the remains of the Green Lanterns, join up with John's bunch, and head for New Korugar, and Sinestro's crew.  In a panel that pleased me to no end, there are a bunch of lanterns flying and a whole bunch of them are identifiable as...women!  Instead of the usual token one or two, so that makes me happy.  This is all part of Sinestro's plan of course, but Soranik and Lyssa just can't keep from sniping at each other, and it is actually rather amusing.  Lyssa Drak has some interesting...kinks!

So, they are all together, and exchanging war stories, while Soranik helps the wounded, when who should show up but the new New Guardians! And they aren't very happy.  They also rather sheepishly spill the beans that Kyle is actually...well...ALIVE, and that Highfather wants to use him as a weapon against Darkseid.  The news that Kyle is actually alive makes St. Walker very happy for a change, which is immediately quashed by the Guardians, who like their former brethren  are whiny little blue beeyotches.

They are all standing around pontificating, while Hal offers a suggestion, that there is...ONE ring that the New Gods haven't tried, but the Guardians...since it wasn't their idea...are horrified, and tell Hal to get to work on a plan.  So, obediently, Hal trots off and tries to be a good little Lantern.  This of course, simply disgusts Sinestro who comes in while Hal is...(snicker) trying to come with a strategy!

Hal and strategy don't really go together.

Sinestro, in his usual polite fashion, points this out, and of course, they start the whole "mas macho" business that they always go through, much to their mutual enjoyment.  Seriously, these two have the same Hal/Guy relationship going on, albeit on a slightly different level.  Sinestro tells Hal to stop being a good little follower, and to do what he does best, which is fly in by the seat of his pants.  One of the reasons that Sinestro himself could never totally defeat Hal,was because he was so unpredictable.  Naturally, Hal takes this the wrong way, and starts fluttering his eyelashes at Sinestro, because...well, he's Hal Jordan.

Seriously, I snickered all through this.

So, down in Coast City, we have the cops outside a circus, and who should be there but Black Hand, who i having himself just a fine old time, with a bunch of dead performers, including the Flying Graysons and Harry Houdini.  Then Hal flies in, saving the Graysons from falling, much to the disgust of Black Hand, who seems to be a whole lot more like his old crazy self.  At least he has his sense of humor back, which is always a good thing.  Hal drops his bomb, in that that he wants a...team-up.

Oh, this book just got a whole lot more interesting.

This issue was...dare I say it...actually FUN!

Tiny Reviews

Crap in a hat!  That was certainly a small week...at least for me.

Fairest #31

Well, the obnoxious Sunflower still is sulking, and Mary from Mary had a little lamb shows up and apparently lost her lamb, but is shacking up with Mary Mary Quite Contrary, and has taken to gardening, but some of the younger animal members decide to form their own superhero group with disastrous results...or something.  And Reynaud and his new girlfriend give birth to their cub, and he's adorable.  And the fox tail is quite nice.  Naturally, they put it all up on Facebook.

This was interesting, but a bit rambling.  Not all that much of a story really, I think they are marking time to the big showdown.  But not terrible.

Green Lantern #36

Oh Hal.  Oh Sinestro.  You two are adorable together.  More tomorrow.

Tiny Titans: Return to the Treehouse #6

My favorite book of the week.  Brainiac jr. stole the Titans treehouse and they've been searching for a replacement over the past five issues, with the predictably hilarious and inappropriate results.  So they finally end up doing what they should have done from the beginning, and go to Batman...who makes short work of straightening things out.  Also Lunch Lady Darkseid shows up which always makes me happy.

And when Batman summons Superman, he just yells "Clark!" at the top of his lungs, which for some reason I found to be hilarious.  And they not only get their own treehouse back, but ALL of the treehouses, all together which is also adorable.

This comic is adorable.

So...so adorable.

And that was it!
