!@#$%&!@#!$!!!!!!
I can't believe this. My fershlugginer computer has done it again, and gone and blown itself up. I was sitting at my desk this morning, leisurely sipping my tea, when it just...turned it self off. Rather startled, I tried to start it up again, but it wouldn't turn on, and there was the nasty scent of fried electronics in the air. Naturally, my insurance and warranty ran out last month. I just had the stupid thing fixed a couple of months ago, dagnabit! Things Are Supposed To Work!
So, I am afraid that my posting may be a bit sporadic for the near future.
Rassum, frassum, fraggit...!!!!!!

Oh, NO! Goldurnit, I hate it when stuff like that happens -- I definitely feel your pain, Sally! My computers started frying out so regularly, I switched to buying USED computers 'cause there's no way I'm paying full price for a computer anymore if the darn thing's gonna konk out in a year, anyway. :-(
Hope you're up and running with a reliable machine soon! Good luck to you!
Dead computer? Hmmm...
Two words: Black Lantern
Sounds like you're jinxed...
Man, I hope you didn't lose anything good! Get back soon!
Wheeee! I'm typing this on my daughter's old laptop. I've never used a laptop before, and it is probably going to take a while to adjust, but at least I'm able to get on-line.
Man, I hate it when I don't have my blogging fix in the morning! I hate going cold-turkey!
Sea, your idea of getting older computers appeals to me.
Looks like you have an opportunity to stimulate the economy. ;p
The first time you've used a laptop!?! Oh, Sally, at home I hardly use anything else! It takes a while to get used to the "mouse" function on the average laptop, but you just can't beat the portability. I have to say that desktop machines DO handle things like graphics and games much, much better than laptops. But for surfing and casual blog posting, a laptop can't be beat! :-)
With respect to Maverick, I have two more words: Refurbished Apple. Saves money and you get the best computer available.
Yeah, this whole doing without a mouse is a bit confusing, but I think that I'm adjusting. At least I managed to hook it up correctly...or at least enough so that it hasn't blown up...yet.
What does one DO with dead or mostly dead computers anyway? They are a bit too large to be paperweights, and I seem to have at least four of them now, in the attic.
Two words: Modern. Art.
The place where I've been getting my used computers accepts old/broken computers for recycling (I suspect they also use them for parts). Check to see if you have a Computer Renaissance or a similar business local to you -- they often accept computers for recycling.
Why don't you juast plug a mouse into the laptop?
You can Do that?
