We're Going To Try This Again
With Springlike and positively balmy weather here in lovely New England, we are going to be marching AGAIN this weekend in the biggest St. Patrick's Day parade in practically the whole country...the Holyoke, Massachusetts parade. It's two and a half miles long, and takes several hours because there are just so many participants. People are staking out their places on the sidewalks by Friday, and the parade isn't until Sunday.
Sheesh!
Posting will continue by Monday, depending upon what sort of condition I'm in.

Well? How'd it go?
Saturday here was GORGEOUS.
Today, it's FREEZING again.
I'm betting you're experiencing the same thing ...?
It turned out to be a very nice day actually, about 60 degrees or so, and sunny, so perfect marching weather.
I have never seen so many people come out for a parade in my LIFE! My dress was gorgeous, first time I've worn it, with a chemise AND a corset, I didn't take a deep breath for about six hours, but I looked pretty good, if I say so myself.
But man, my feet hurt.
"Sore feet are the mark of a true patriot."
- George Washington
Easy for him to say...he was on a horse!
Yeah, that and I made it up (sounded like something he'd say, though).
Off to Mexico (the Island of Women!..the wife HATES it when I say that!). Catch up with you all next-o week-o!
P.S.:
Sally - Glad to hear the parade was a success and the weather was swell!

Well, good! Sounds like the nasty weather didn't hit, so that's good. :-) Glad the parade was a success!
My great, great, great, great, etc., grandfather was supposedly with Washington at Valley Forge. 'Til his dying day, Gramps told anyone who would listen that Washington cussed worse than any man he ever heard. ;-)
You're lucky, we got 8 in of snow + 50 mph winds. Gonna be 70 tomorrow
To be honest Sea, he probably had a LOT to swear about! They liked to say "Damme" a lot.
Dwayne, don't you just love Spring weather?
Now that it's Monday, it's much cooler and rainy. There are few things more unpleasant than marching in lousy weather...but we've done it.
And just to let you know exactly HOW drunk all of these people were, some guy in a tavern came out and tried to hit on me. And then on my 18 year old daughter. We gave him identical looks of scorn and derision and he slunk away.
Sheesh!
