What IS it about Green Lanterns and their Craniums?
There is just something ABOUT Green Lanterns, that apparently makes you want to punch them in the face. And it's not just Hal Jordan, although it is a labor of love amongst a LOT of bloggers (myself included) to show in obsessive detail every instance of Hal's head trauma. Naturally, there are a large number of villains who feel compelled to punch Hal in the face, but Hal, in his innate "Halness" has also managed to punch HIMSELF on a frequent basis, not to mention, being felled by tree branches, yellow ceiling ties, innocuous bars of soap, and flying toy airplanes.
But it's not just Hal.
Guy Gardner seems to be a magnet when it comes to punches in the face as well, although he's not quite in Hal's league when it comes to inadvertently hurting himself.
There was of course, the first...and probably most famous of Guy's face being a handy place to land an opponents fist...the notorious "One Punch".

There was the infamous bludgeoning by Hal in the equally infamous issue #25 from the third volumn of Green Lantern, when Hal decided that he wanted to have Earth back, and didn't much care that Guy stood in his way.

Well, if it isn't Hal and Guy, at it again. At least Guy is giving some of it back, instead of just getting punched in the face.
Of course, there is just SOME thing about Guy that MAKES you want to smack him around. He was certainly pushing all of Wonder Woman's buttons here, so you really can't blame her.

...Still, I think that Hal is really getting a little TOO into it here.
So it was a great relief to me, to see Guy grow up,and NOT get mercilessly pummelled on a regular basis. At least, not by his friends and co-workers. Now it is mostly bad guys.

Oh Guy. Oh Hal. I think the text in #25 is actually worse than the pictures. How can anyone possibly justify not showing compassion to someone he's willingly describing as "half-dead"? And then a page later Tora is actually afraid that Guy might really be dead. It makes me wonder what better artwork might have shown us about the true brutality of that beatdown. (To be fair, Hal took a lot of damage, too. Both of them should have been carried off that street on a stretcher. But then, they're both too stubborn to know when they're supposed to stay down.)
Hard heads and tight posteriors. Are there any traits more Green Lanterny than those?
Seriously, I think I could stand toe to toe with Guy in a fight, and Im short, fat and pregnant.
But no one EVER slugs John.
Kyle gets pummelled quite a bit, but in all honesty, he's quite good at punishing himself without any help from anyone else.
I think Hal and Guy just get singled out because they're both so damned arrogant -- and I think some sick part of them LIKES getting beat up.
BTW, I split my blogs I follow into Favorite, Good, and Okay and visit them in descending order. That way if I run out of time I hit the best. I forgot to mention that yours got promoted to Favorite a few weeks back when Chris' Incredible Super Blog got demoted...
Do you do requests? I think I've seen Aquaman punch out a Green Lantern or two in my life.
Why does Guy remind me so much of Archie Andrews in that last panel?

It does seem as though Hal and Guy get pummelled the most. Kyle is just too pretty, and inoffensive to punch, and John is far too competent. Hal on the other hand...let's face it, Hal is just clumsy. And there's just something about Guy that MAKES you want to bip him in the nose.
Even Dmitri, who gives him that big bear hug, managed to slug him a few times.
Man, Guy has probably put his dentist's kids through college.
