Ooohhhh!

Isn't this just the prettiest ol' thang?

Green Lanterns

It's a promotional piece by Neal Adams, and it is simply gorgeous. No Green Lantern behinds, per se, but what the heck, I love Hal's hair almost as much.

No one draws Hal's hair better than Neal Adams. NO ONE.

Oooooh, HAL, you sexy, sexy devil, you ...!

It's a very pretty pic and I realize it's just an ad, but the composition is pretty baffling. John clearly hates Hal's hair so much that he's trying to laser it off. (He's been bitter ever since DC changed up his style -- see, in this pic he's clearly trying to ditch the Marine look and grow his old hair back, but he's currently stuck somewhere in between.) Kyle and Soranik have obviously had a terrible disagreement and feel the need to kill each other. Guy is getting really pissed off about always being shoved behind other Lanterns in these pictures, especially now that John is literally walking all over him. And I have no idea what Kilowog is doing, but I suspect it has something to do with his love of synchronized swimming.

But you know what I do love? The light shining off of Hal's hair, Soranik in general, and the little detail of Hal/Guy, John, and Kyle having slightly different versions of the Lantern symbol! A lot of artists forget that.

Disturbingly enough, Kilowog appears to be partially naked...

Thank you Dwayne, they are INDEED mesmerizing. Now I need to get a hundred or so of the Green Lantern ones, and put them in Sea's front yard.

Neal Adams is a hell of an artist. And Hal really does have some of the best hair in comicbookdom.

And yes, Duskdog, it's nice to see the little details. I LOVE the little details.

There's no butt in this ad, why you like it so much, Sally?

I think this may be the first time Neal has drawn Kyle!

(And Soranik and Kilowog, too.)

WOW.
