My New Battle Cry
Take a gander at this little gem...
I have to admit that I blatantly stole this from Adam over at "Comics Make No Sense", one of my absolutely favorite sites. I don't have the foggiest idea what the original scan is from or who that is yelling it, but "Sockamagee" has just become my new favorite thing to say.
I now plan to yell this as often as is possible, preferably when it is also completely inappropriate.
"What's for dinner, Mom?"
"SOCKAMAGEEEEE!!!!!!!!"
*hee hee*

Sockamagee! Is the trademark exclamation of the teenage Robby Reed from DCs House of Mystery "Dial H for Hero" series. The comic blog "Dial B for Blog" is a homage to it.
And here I used to think "Holey Moley" was a weird thing to yell.
See, I KNEW somebody would know all about this. It's just so delightfully weird.
And Holey Moley does have it's charms.
No one was better at exclamations, though, than Robin, in the old 1960s Batman TV show:
Robin (Burt Ward): Holy Oleo!
Catwoman (Julie Newmar): I didn't know you could yodel.
Arrrrghh! So, so, SO BAD -- but funny. :-)
Do you remember the episode where they are trapped and sinking into a giant wedding cake, and Robin yells "Holy Matrimony, Batman1"
I think I wet my pants.
I don't remember that one, but it doesn't surprise me in the slightest. :-) Gawd, to think I took that show totally seriously when I was four years old ... When I sat down to watch it again as a teenager, I was like "WTF is THIS? I don't remember Batman being like this!" I appreciated the camp better as an adult. :-)
Yelling SOCKAMAGEE!! at random will later - years later, mind you... - make you the best mom ever.
SOCKAMAGEEEEEEEEE!!!!
i think sockamagee is one of those phrases that could make a serious comeback if we put our minds to it....
sockamageeeeee!!!
The "Holy Oleo" moment came when Catwoman had tied the Dynamic Duo to a large dish like thing covered with aluminum foil and covered them in margarine in order to cook them in the hot sun.
Then Robin cried "Holy Foily Oleo" to which Catwoman replied "I didn't know you could yodel."
I almost crapped myself laughing.
