It's All Attitude
While I am looking forward breathlessly, to the new and third monthly offering from DC of the chronicles of the Green Lanterns, there hasn't been a date offered yet as to WHEN we can view the further adventures of Guy and Kilowog. This is unfortunate. I'm thrilled to pieces that Peter Tomasi is going to be the writer, because he's proved that he GETS the Green Lanterns, and that he's done a stellar job with Guy in the past. I'm also anticipating some more things being done with Kilowog, who has been rather neglected lately. And of all the non-human Green Lanterns, Kilowog is by far my favorite. Although I have to say that Soranik is getting higher and higher in my estimation lately.
But anyway. In an extremely roundabout way, I'm saying that we need MORE Guy pictures.
Here's a nice one. Byrne got the attitude down perfectly, even though he was the one who gave him that goddamned haircut.

This is a nice one too.
And being thorougly efficient, at least when it comes to pummelling.
And finally,
Hal says what he really thinks.
Heh.

I'm impressed with Guy's ability to use a giant fist to deck two Commie guards he's not even looking at. That's some Batman-level "Who needs line-of-sight?" stuff right there.
Too bad the guards will probably be exiled to Siberia for failing to stop him. They should have called in sick.
Guy may have been braindead, but by God, he had panache!
Seriously!
You forgot to mention Salakk!! c´mon! he might not be Killowog, but he still cooler that Soranik! And also there´s Iondale and Yat, and ! :P
And I have just expended a week in Russia, so I can appeciate the images of Guy getting all "Gardner" on the Soviet guys in a different light :D
Anyhow, he´ll always be the best Green Lantern, ever!
Poor, poor lonely Kilowog. At least he has his job to keep him occupied. It'll be good for him to hang around with Guy again, though. Guy always was the only one who actually seemed to care about him (well, okay, Arisia made a half-assed effort, too).
I know a lot of people aren't fond of Soranik, but I love her. It's nice to have a sensible woman around the Corps... though I do hope she doesn't start acting stupid just because Jade is back and Kyle is likely to be a wishy-washy dork for a while. You know he will be.
Salaak is also awesome, and one of my favorite-but-often-overlooked aspects of the new Corps is the way Salaak has risen in prominence. He's a veteran Lantern (really I wish we could see him have a conversation with Sinestro, since they were Lanterns during the same time period and served in neighboring sectors), and he certainly has a personality that's... well, distinct. He's got rank now and all the burdens that go with that, and a throughly entertaining relationship with Guy that I hope isn't forgotten.
Salaak IS quite amazing. Really, when you come right down to it, the number of awfully interesting Green Lanterns is growing by leaps and bounds. This is why I wish they would revive the old Green Lantern Quarterly, just to have time to have stories about some of the lesser known or less popular characters.
The new books are going to be interesting. What on earth is Vath going to do without any legs? Is Driq really back? Will Soranik clobber Kyle over the head, or show restraint? What will happen when she and Sinestro get together and better still, what will happen when Sinestro and Kyle get together?
